We’re looking for Electricity Distribution - Vegetation Technicians to join our Vegetation Management team across the East Midlands, West Midlands, South West and Wales.
In this newly developed role, you’ll be part of a team driving a fresh, data‑led approach to vegetation management—an area that is critical for maintaining ESQCR compliance and ensuring the resilience of our network for customers. To deliver this effectively, we work closely with a number of specialist suppliers, and these roles will be key in strengthening how we collaborate and how we manage performance across the region.
Reporting to the Vegetation Management Leads, you’ll play a vital role in building and maintaining strong relationships with Field Operations and our delivery partners. You’ll also provide accurate KPI data to support our monthly Service Review Meetings, helping shape continual improvement across our vegetation programmes.
A core part of your role will involve reviewing and gatekeeping supplier outage requests. Using your technical experience and data sources such as LiDAR, you’ll refine outage durations and locations, assess additional network interventions, and coordinate with Field Operations to develop an efficient and accurate outage schedule. You’ll also ensure the right resources—from staffing to generation support—are in place to maximise efficiency and minimise CML/CI. When required, you may also engage directly with customers affected by planned outages.
You’ll be based at one of our depots within the licence area and will travel throughout the region as part of your duties.
Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
As a Vegetation Technician, you will play a central role in the safe, efficient and well‑planned delivery of vegetation works across your area. Your responsibilities will include:
