Planners design our network and work with our Engineers to construct, reinforce, alter and replace our equipment. As you can imagine, the pace is fast, and if you join us, our customers will trust you to provide excellent service and minimise any impact. Right now we are looking for an 11 kV Planner to join us at our Tipton depot.
You will be required to hold a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 (or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level) in order to apply.
If not already attained the successful candidate will be required to undertake HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Evidence of your qualification certificates will be required prior to appointment.
*Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need.
The main activities within this role will include:
You should have an analytical mind, with a methodical approach to problem solving, the ability to present information in a clear and reasoned way and be able to confidently deal with customers including Architects, Developers and Businesses.
Experience of network modelling and analysis and the use of Crown, Des/Emu, Windebut, HV Genie and other design tools as required would be an advantage.
You will need to be mobile throughout the area and a flexible attitude is essential as you may be asked to undertake other duties to assist the team in meeting it's objectives. The opportunity may arise to undertake standby duties and operational authorisations and experience would be of benefit.
Applicants may not currently possess the full range of skills required to carry out the role but should have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with training.

This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
